Communications Manager for Facilities, Infrastructure and Risk Management

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Communications Manager who will work across the Facilities, Infrastructure and Risk Management (FIRM) division to provide communications and marketing coordination.
The division consists of: * Business Support Services * Campus Design and Facilities Development * Enterprise Risk Management * Facilities Management and Campus Services * University Police
As the communications subject matter expert, this individual will consult with stakeholders and then implement tactics including website creation/revisions, signage, social media, email communications and other vehicles to support the business goals.
The communications manager will report directly to the AVP of Business Support Services with a dotted line to the senior content manager with University Communications & Marketing to ensure consistency of branding and messaging.
Core responsibilities will include:
Collaborates within Facilities, Infrastructure and Risk Management (FIRM) division, as well as related campus units, to accomplish communications goals
Writes and edits content for a variety of uses and channels, including websites, email communications, memos and signage. Works with communications and creative colleagues in the Division of University Communications & Marketing to ensure consistent messaging and visual identity.
Evaluates, develops, proposes and implements strategies for divisional websites; works within the university's content management system to build, edit and implement websites that align with the University's branding guidelines.
Develops communications and builds websites and email communications across multiple stakeholders, using proven digital accessibility practices
Operates semi-independently, with guidance from supervisor and other senior leaders
Required Minimum Experience :
Working in a complex environment with more than one client or stakeholder
Collaborating with designers and project managers on creative deliverables
Working within at least one content management system (CMS)
Writing for digital; proofreading skills; a pre-employment writing test is required.
Recommended, but not required:
Understanding of Google Analytics
Understanding of digital accessibility
Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, communications or other relevant field
