1. Relationship management: As a key member of the Web Team, coordinate as a single point of contact for onboarding projects and estimating time and resources required. Provide ongoing verbal and written communications with colleagues including acknowledgements, agreements, and updates. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues throughout the library and university. 2. Planning: Initiate project planning. Gather existing content, stakeholder goals and objectives, and relevant existing user research. Document, synthesize and represent information attained through stakeholder education, outreach, and presentations. Assess, prioritize, and track requests related to web development projects and needs. Collaborate with Web Team members to determine and arrange what discovery phase activities such as user interviews, environmental scans, and audits may be needed. 3. Definition: Define goals, outcomes, scope, technical requirements, and timelines. Able to manage expectations and detail a minimal viable product that aligns with available time and resources. 4. Content strategy: Collaborate with other Web Team members to contextualize web content within the library's Web strategy. Articulate a content plan informed by the strategy, goals, and user actions for each page and how it connects to other content areas. 5. Content creation and editing: Create written content by assessing existing information, gathering assets and updated information, then synthesizing it into web copy that works in concert with page images, actions, and structural elements for quality user engagement. Be able to edit, fact check, and proofread according to Yale Library Written Style Guidelines and standard style manuals, while providing resources and support to other web authors and editors to do the same. 6. Content production: Build, update, edit, and optimize content for web and mobile pages using the new Drupal authoring tools, ensuring consistency in voice and messaging. Be able to identify any authoring features or gaps in the CMS to request for Drupal development. Collaborate with the designer and developers on a sustainable production workflow. 7. Content Management: Develop and implement content lifecycle guidelines including regular updates. Act as the primary contact for departments seeking content-related improvements and ensure that requested changes are aligned with best practices and Yale Library style guidelines. Collaborate on and maintain a centralized taxonomy for tagging content to share with other content creators to ensure their material is available across online touchpoints. Advise on content governance. Provide training on writing for the web, content strategy for web editors, and advise on digital content best practices. 8. Publication: Oversee and manage content creation and publication. Initiates review and approval process with stakeholders. Collaborates with designer and developer on QA testing and final deployment of web development projects.
