POSITION SUMMARY
Grinnell College seeks a Director of Digital Strategy who wants to be on the leading edge of higher education marketing and communications. The Director will be working in conjunction with Enrollment, Development and Alumni Relations, Academic Affairs, and the President’s Office to present the Grinnell College brand in cohesive, consistent, and compelling ways across the spectrum of digital properties. This role is the lead strategist and tactician overseeing an integrated digital presence, including digital marketing and lead generation for enrollment, an accessible web site that enables the College’s mission and aspirations, and integration of key digital properties within the Grinnell digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance the College's main web presence, ensuring that information is presented in an accurate, cohesive, consistent, and compelling manner. Implement new features and projects, including scope, budget, and functionality.
With the Vice President of Communications and Marketing and other stakeholders, establish and monitor web governance policies. Serve as unit liaison with ITS.
Create and maintain key web-based and digital marketing performance metrics using GA4 and looker studio. Create reports for leadership and partners to facilitate data-informed decision making.
Manage external vendors including web hosting (with ITS), web development, and special platforms. Anticipate needed changes and integrations, enhancements, features, and content road maps.
Supervise web content manager and content fellow. Ensure that other staff members have current training and access to ensure timely updates of web content.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
7 years or more experience

Exhibit the ability to create actionable reporting of KPI’s.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and efficiently manage daily work demands with strong attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively utilizing verbal and written modes of communications.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education digital strategy and execution in Drupal or similar CMS platforms
Experience in an organization of comparable complexity
Moderate knowledge of HTML, relational databases, and other back-end functions
