The Mankato Clinic is Minnesota’s largest physician-owned, multi-specialty group practice, and is located in Mankato, MN, a short 75 minutes from the southern Twin Cities metro area. Mankato has a population of 50,000 and is considered a metropolitan statistical area, with a total service area of approximately 300,000. Mankato Clinic employs 700 employees, approximately 80 physicians and 110 advanced practice providers in over 20 specialties and thirteen sites. Mankato Clinic is committed to the ongoing development of high performing health care teams that attend to both quality and cost of care in a patient centered environment.
The Director of Provider Services is part of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The Director recruits Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in accordance with the clinic’s recruitment plan. The position provides overall leadership in the staffing of healthcare providers in the Clinic, to include planning, sourcing, recruiting, hiring, orientation and retention. As a member of the Clinic’s leadership team, the Director will also participate in strategic planning and other leadership initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring that the clinic is fully staffed with highly skilled and engaged providers.
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Three or more years of increasing responsibility recruiting and hiring physicians and advance practice providers is desired for this position.
A general understanding of medical practices including primary and specialty care medicine, medical schools and Residency Programs and health care regulations related to recruiting would be helpful. Knowledge of immigration law, healthcare regulations, the latest recruitment techniques including the use of social media and other digital marketing techniques would be a plus. Experience with reading contracts and written agreements would also be helpful.
Candidates should possess excellent leadership and human relation skills to effectively manage and adapt to a variety of personalities to ensure a successful recruitment process and achievement of goals. Strong written and verbal communication skills along with social skills will be essential. In addition, this position requires critical thinking and the ability to problem solve in order to generate creative solutions to recruitment challenges.
