JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Graphic Designer serves as a print and digital designer for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). The position works to maintain UTHSC's brand standards and provides designs that are consistent in style across the various colleges and departments. This position works with the colleges and departments on campus, Communications and Marketing team members, and vendors to design, layout, and coordinate the production of print and digital marketing materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, designs, develops, and creates content and creative pieces.
Ensures consistency and creative, stylistic, and branding standards are met.
Works independently, following brand and style objectives and the general direction of the Creative Services Manager.
Communicates and translates complex and technical information and subject matter in a way that can be easily consumed by a target audience.
Participates in brainstorming, planning, and strategy sessions with Communications and Marketing staff and clients.
Creates visual content that supports UTHSC campaigns and initiatives.
Manages projects and prioritizes work to meet deadlines.
Works with campus clients, team members, and vendors to determine the best way to effectively communicate/market to a specified audience.
Consults, analyzes, assesses, and develops plans to communicate client's needs and objectives.
Coordinates and collaborates with other divisions in Communications and Marketing to provide clients with the most robust and efficient communications and marketing campaign.
Works collaboratively with the UT Licensing office to effectively and accurately brand, and approve branding for, various promotional products at UTHSC.
