The Assistant Director of Communications for the College of Health Sciences manages both internal and external communications, coordinates the creation of effective marketing and communication materials, and executes strategic communication plans for the college and its programs. This role entails extensive writing, highlighting the importance of maintaining a vibrant online presence.
This position is onsite at our Stephenville, Texas campus. Work hours are Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM â“ 5:00 PM or as work requirements indicate. This position may require work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.
Responsibilities:
Assists in directing and supporting internal and external communications for COHS. Writes, reviews, edits, and distributes communications across internal and external channels; prepares presentations and messaging while maintaining a positive image and promoting the universityâ™s brand identity.Â
Oversee creative teams in the development of effective marketing and communication materials including production and design direction, branding strategies, quality control of materials, and adherence to university brand and style guides.
Provide project management and supervision for full-time employees, student workers, and interns, ensuring timely and effective execution of marketing and communication initiatives.
Develop and implement comprehensive strategic marketing and communication plans aligned with COHS and university-wide goals.
Create and share messaging and branding strategies that effectively communicate institutional priorities and impact to internal and external constituents, including stakeholders, employees, and leadership.
Manage and maintain the college website by creating content, ensuring consistency with university brand and messaging standards, and contributing to social media strategy and execution.
Collaborate with Central MarCom to create print and digital marketing materials for the college; support media outreach efforts and assist with planning, logistics coordination, and promotion of key college events.
Minimum Requirements:
Education - Bachelorâ™s degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience - Seven years of related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Preferred experience working in a health science-related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with demonstrated expertise in writing, editing, and planning communications; strong attention to detail.
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software; well-organized with excellent time and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate effectively with teams; strong interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills.
Other Requirements:

Salary Range
The target base annual salary range is $59,370 to $84.311 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
