What User Experience Design contributes to Cardinal Health
Commercial Technologies manages the enterprise's portfolio of commercial technologies to maximize the business value of the technologies and enhance the customer experience. This function creates strategies for the portfolio and innovative solutions based on relationships with business leaders, develops back-end solutions and capabilities, and improves the front-end experience.
User Experience Design creates intuitive digital interfaces that meet business objectives, make it easy for a user and/or customer to accomplish their intended task(s) and deliver a high-level of customer satisfaction when engaging with the company online.
Cardinal Health is looking for a versatile product designer, mentor, and leader who's excited to craft digital products and services that help real people while supporting your colleagues as a member of the Web Operations team. The Web Operations team manages our 9 public digital properties and has responsibility for managing all content on the cardinalhealth.com site and defines the experience.
As a Sr. Consultant, User Experience Design you will lead the research, design, and will shape the overall user experience of the Cardinal Health digital properties. We work closely with our marketers, product owners, and end-users to create experiences that enable both our business partners and end-users to be successful. Within Cardinal Health, our team members are user experience and digital brand ambassadors.
The Sr. Consultant, User Experience Design works on large and small projects, including everything from supporting individual campaign needs to owning the evolution of the UI design system for our digital properties. The person in this role will conduct research activities (ex. usability testing, card sorts, tree tests), create UX design artifacts, develop information architecture, work independently and collaboratively with business partners, and articulate UX best practices to their Digital Marketing peers. The ideal candidate will enjoy building relationships across Cardinal Health and being a bridge for conversations between IT, Enterprise Marketing, and business partners.
Engage as a player/coach, equally providing recommendations and delivering tactical research/design.
Guide product teams to deeply understand customer/user behavior, pain points, and needs.
Articulate experience challenges and opportunities for the Cardinal Health public digital properties.
Manage and evolve the UI library that serves as the framework.
Relentlessly consider the whole system and each detail from the user's perspective.
Prioritize what adds the most value for our users/customers and our business.
Clearly identify and test your hypotheses and assumptions.
Determine both quantitative and qualitative insights and translate them into actionable design tasks.
Create detailed user flows and sophisticated low/high-fidelity prototypes for understanding and validation.
Explain your design rationale to non-designers and build a shared understanding to effectively deliver exceptional cohesive experiences.
Advocate for a human-centered approach for the Cardinal Health marketing websites to deliver more desirable solutions as a catalyst for increasing our competitive advantage.
Provide thought leadership and creative direction to designers and researchers.
Build and nurture relationships with cross-functional leaders, their teams, and business stakeholders.
Demonstrate qualities of transparency, trust, vulnerability, psychological safety, and collaboration.
Passionately champions website accessibility for all users.
Bachelor's degree in human factors, design, psychology, sociology, or equivalent work experience preferred
7-10 years' experience designing digital products and/or services utilizing a human-centered approach preferred
3+ years designing in healthcare for relevant segments - e.g. consumer, pharmacy, health plans, etc. a plus
A clear grasp of experience design best practices for digital and real-world touchpoints.
IA, journey mapping, blueprinting, and interaction design chops and proficiency with relevant tools.
Repeated experience planning/facilitating/analyzing research, service prototyping, and usability testing.
Exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills in service of impactful storytelling.
Comfort leading and designing within a modern product/service design lifecycle.
Ability to guide team members and stakeholders through a design thinking mindset.
Strong understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0)
A clear grasp of UX best practices for web and mobile experiences and a compulsion to keep the UX team up to date on user research trends.
Experience working with marketing websites and digital experiences.
Ability to navigate a complex corporate environment
Well-versed in the strategy, operations, and technology powering the healthcare business.
Experience designing modern data visualizations to tell the right story to the right audience.
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) a plus.
Experience with testing and optimization suites (Adobe Target, SiteSpect, Optimizely, etc.) a plus.
